Parent Adolescent Counselling
The Parent Adolescent Counselling service s of Southern
Junction Community Service’s aims to support families with
12-18 year old young people to work with the changes and
challenges of adolescence. The goal of the service is to
reduce family conflict, prevent family breakdown and work
towards preventing young people from experiencing
homelessness.
Services offered include Counselling
– for individuals and families;
Negotiation and Mediation
–work towards resolving issues between young people, parents
and other family members;
Conflict Resolution
- Offering independent guidance so that parents and
adolescents can both speak and be heard;
Problem Solving Strategies
- Assisting parents and young people to work together, to
explore options and find solutions;
Work to prevent homelessness

Working through issues which may prevent young people
becoming homeless;
Information and Referral
– Connecting you with other resources and relevant support
These services are offered specifically to families:

Experiencing conflict and/or difficulties relating to each
other

Who want to work towards better relationships
·
Where a young person could remain at home or return home if
problems could be
resolved
